Ok, I found it, the way to create hyperlinks. That’s easy in fact: select the field and then go to the menu: Format → Hyperlink.
Yes, that’s the method. You can also drag-and-drop local files in which case their paths will be inserted.
Optionally you can specify the protocol prefix, see:
