Hello. How can I set a default font size for the long text panel? I know how to set a default font size for fields of the type text using the menu “Format→Font” but I never could set a default font size for fields of the type long text. Anytime I go to a new long text panel to write something (having “Memo/Files View” on) I have to set the font size because it is set by default to a small font size (9).
The menu “Options→Default font” let me set a default font but not its size.
Hi, In both those cases this is the same 10pt font. In memo/LongText fields the “Font” dialog box is slightly different, uses slightly different rounding when converting smaller font size units to points.
As a matter of fact, if you’re changing the default GS-Base font, some font families may appear (too) small @10pt so the ability to change the global/default font name only might not be sufficient. I’ll take a look at this in the next update (probably next week).
You can already try it out. It’s the ver. 21.2.1. The default font size selection has been added just below the default font name in the Settings dialog box. Changing that size affects all displayed table, form, field elements that use the default font.
This is a global settings, stored in the config. file so opening databases with with cached table row height values calculated for a different default font size requires some editing action to refresh the view (like clicking “row auto-height”, editing some cell or opening and closing the Settings dialog box).
Thanks a lot, it was fast. It is working great the new default font size feature in version 21.2.1. It adds value to the usability of the application specially for someone as me who uses it almost daily.
