GS hangs when I try and do this with more than one record. Even then it sometimes pastes the text but omits numeric values.

Thanks for reporting this bug. Yes, unfortunately there was a typo in the code. As a result, when pasting numeric fields within the table view three random things can happen: the pasting is ok, numbers are ignored or the app hangs/crashes/quits.
The bug was already fixed. You can download the updated file. The current file version is 9.0.4.
